OPENERS
1) She stood rooted to the ground with her mouth agape resembling a fish out of water.
2) She stood still, mesmerised by the brown leaves falling against the cold, hard stone.
3) With his right hand clenching on the left side of his chest, tears trickled down his cheeks.
4) “I give up!” Joseph throws his hands up and storms away.
5) His jaw drops and eyes widens to the size of tiny eyes.
6) Cold sweat trickles down my forehead and the thumping of my heart seems to be ringing in my ears.
7) Overwhelmed by knowledge, Katty ran out of the house.
8) Anger. A strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure and hostility.
9) With dark circles framing her eyes, she stares at me insolently from the pallor of her face.
10) “RRRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG!’ the door bell starts to ring. I look through the peep hole and to my horror, I see a baby craddle.
11) Everyone is oblivious to the heat beating down their backs.
12) She sobs uncontrollably under the pouring rain feeling as though even heaven was sympathizing with her.

You have quite a few openers that are pretty general in terms of content so that’s not good (eg, #4) – however, I do like #10 – very intriguing and lots of potential for a good story.
